NAPF History & Mission

The NAPF initiated competition with the North American Cup Championships that was held during March 2003, in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania [USA]. NAPF member nations will be both members of the NAPF and of the IPF. The North American Powerlifting Federation ratified a provisional constitution in Akita City, Japan in 2000, with confirmation at the first full Congress of the NAPF on April 9, 2004 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida [USA]. In April 2004, the NAPF hosted its first Regional Championships and Congress in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida [USA]. NAPF Championship Records were established during 2004, in the Open Division. Bench Press records will be established during October 2006, at the conclusion of the 1st NAPF Bench Press Championships.

With the commencement of NAPF championship competition, we hope to offer the opportunity for powerlifting athletes from the North American region to enjoy international competition, and to further the friendship between member federation officials and athletes as well as our respective countries.

If you're interested in taking part in one of our championships or becoming involved as a volunteer, please contact me at: rhk@verizon.net.

Thank you!

Sincere regards,

Robert H. Keller
General Secretary
North American Powerlifting Federation
