2012 USA Powerlifting National Governing Body Meeting
Orlando, Florida
Thursday, June 21st, 2012 - 4:00PM
All current USAPL members are invited to attend the 2012 National Governing Body Meeting.
The official agenda will be posted on the USA Powerlifting web-site the week of May 30th. Below you will find the listings for elections and honorary awards. If you would like to nominate someone for an elected position or for an honorary award, please notify Angela Simons at: usapl.simons@gmail.com
A reminder to all State Chairs and voting members: if you are planning to proxy your vote to another member you must notify USAPL Secretary, Angela Simons, by mail or email. Your proxy must also carry a copy of the letter with your signature to the NGB meeting before they will be given your voting card. State Chairs must proxy their vote to a member from their state. Only one vote is allowed per individual. All voting members must have a current membership.

May 24th: All nominations (President and Two (2) Executive Committee Positions and all honorary award nominations) Agenda Items, NATIONAL MEET BIDS (Men's open/jr/teen, Bench, Raw, Deadlift/Push-Pull, American Open*) and ALL COMMITTEE REPORTS**.
Please note that all National Meet bids must be submitted on the National Event Application Form. The application form can be downloaded at: http://www.usapowerlifting.com/forms/meetdirectorforms/index.shtml
* All other National Meet Bids (High School, Collegiate, Women's) are submitted to the appropriate committee chair for consideration at the corresponding national committee meeting. (Committee chairs contact information can be found at: http://www.usapowerlifting.com/committees/index.shtml)
** Committee reports will be included in NGB materials per NGB vote in 2007. Committee chairs are still encouraged to use their time to thank those they wish and give a brief summary at the meeting.

USA Powerlifting Announces Its Partnership with Musl TV!

USA Powerlifting is pleased to announce our partnership with MUSL TV. The principals of MUSL TV are implementing a cable and direct broadcast media outlet to showcase the lives and athletic careers of athletes at all levels in a wide variety of athletic pursuits. USAPL events and activities will initiate live streaming through the MUSL TV web portal shortly after the first of the year with access to television broadcast, including powerlifting events, talk show programs, and training and biographical sketches within the next year.
USA Powerlifting is honored to be a part of this undertaking, to provide access for MUSL TV to our athletes and events, and to showcase our athletes, events and the drug free lifestyle.

2013 World Games Qualifications

The following information was published in the IPF Magazine regarding the qualifications for the 2013 World Games, to be held in Cali, Columbia:
"The qualifications for competing in the 2013 World Games in Cali, Columbia have been set. The top three lifters in each weight category in the 2012 World Open Powerlifting Championships in Puerto Rico will automatically qualify.
Additional qualifications will be granted to each of the IPF Regions consisting of 1 male and 1 female lifter, while the host country can nominate two additional lifters.
Another 15 competitors will qualify to take part based on their achieved Wilks points in the 2012 World Open. And lastly each Region will be given one wild card entry, but it must be a female 72kg category lifter.
Women and men will compete in 4 weight categories each as usual at the World Games."

Hello everyone:
Four [4] important notices regarding the 2011 SSP Nutrition / USAPL Bench Press National Championships. They are:
1. The updated nomination/start list of the athletes that will take part in the 2011 SSP Nutrition / USAPL Bench Press National Championships can be found here: http://www.usaplnationals.com/2011-bench-press-nationals/index.shtml [Last Updated – Tuesday, August 09, 2011]. Currently, there are 222 entries.
2. SSP Nutrition will sponsoring and presenting to the best overall men’s and women’s raw/unequipped bench presser a cash prize of $250.00. Special thanks to SSP Nutrition, Titan Support Systems, Nutrilite – Orlando and the Central Florida Sports Commission for sponsoring this year’s championship. On behalf of you USA Powerlifting, thank you!
3. If you have not made your hotel room reservations at the Hyatt Hotel – Orlando International Airport, please do so by the deadline date of Tuesday, August 16, 2011. Remember this is a holiday weekend and the hotel will, in fact, sell out. For your convenience, the hotel is connected directly to the airport, no shuttle transportation is required.
