USAPL - Pennsylvania * Marketing Division * PO Box 829* Ambler, Pa. 19002
Dear USAPL Member, I am pleased to announce that we have received a tremendous response (130 lifters) for the 3rd annual USAPL American Open Powerlifting Championships that will take place on December 11 & 12, 2004 in King of Prussia (suburbs of Philadelphia), Pennsylvania. Lifters and officials from over 20 states shall be attending, with some world class lifters expected to guest lift, and set some new IPF world records. As previously mentioned in the last issue of Powerlines, the American Open Championships has been especially formatted for the intermediate and grassroots level lifter, wishing to gain valuable platform experience, prior to lifting at either the Men's or Women's National Powerlifting Championships, where a lifter is attempting to qualify for a world team position. In addition to the championship, on Saturday evening, December 11, 2004, a training seminar, free of charge, shall be held at the contest venue. IPF world-record holder Dr. Robert Wagner shall be presenting the seminar. For all interested contest directors, a one-hour round-table discussion shall be held on "How to promote a local and state championship" prior to this training seminar. This is also open and free of charge. If you require powerlifting gear, commercial sellers (Titan, Inzer, etc.) will be available with the most up-to-date equipment to accommodate your specific needs. Also, official USAPL merchandise will be available as well, so please take advantage of these two offers. Key and important, I would like to acknowledge the very generous donations and sponsorship provided by Titan Support Systems, the American Belt Company, and Nutritional Technologies for this championship. On behalf of USA Powerlifting, and the organizing committee for this championship, it is greatly appreciated - Thank you! Finally, for further information pertaining to the contest, as well as the nominations (will be posted on December 01, 2004), please visit the official championship web-site, which can be found at the following URL: http://www.geocities.com/floridausapl/2004AmericanOpen To close, if you have any questions regarding this event, or if I can be of further assistance, I can be reached via e-mail: rhk@verizon.net or telephone number: 954.384.4472. On behalf of USAPL-Pennsylvania and USA Powerlifting, we look forward to seeing you at the championship! Sincere and kind regards, Robert H.
