2024 USA POWERLIFTING  BENCH WORLD CUP

SPECIFICS:

Dates  – October 19 – 20, 2024

Venue: The Drill, Freeschool Lane, Lincoln, LN2 1EY

Built in 1890, on the site of an old sawmill, the venue was used by Lincolnshire Regiments, and from here they were mobilised in August 1914, to go to battle on the western front. In the mid-1990s a major refurbishment, saw it become what it is today; a vibrant venue with a 400-person seating capacity.

TRAVEL:

The two nearest airports to Lincoln are East Midlands and Humberside. East Midlands to Lincoln is a 90-minute Rail journey or a one-hour car drive. Humberside Airport is a Hoppa flight, 45 minutes from Schiphol, Amsterdam’s main airport, and very close to Lincoln so transport could be provided. Then alternatively from Heathrow or Gatwick, via a tube across London and a two-hour train journey, will bring you into the heart of Lincoln close to the venue and our many hotels.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

Lincoln has many wonderful modern and vintage hotels jotted around the city, all with easy access to The Drill.

What can we say about our wonderful City; whether it’s the cobbled streets of Steep Hill and Bailgate, The Stonebow, Lincoln Castle with the Magna Carta, Bomber Command Center, or our Magnificent Cathedral (Geno’s favorite) you will not be short of beautiful sightseeing places. Dining is a great experience with tastes to suit all, whether in the Bailgate, at the Brayford waterside, or just in town. Also, the Bailgate is home to many a fine hostelry serving some of England’s finest real ales.
